Van Gaal refuses to rule out Ramos arrival

Van Gaal refuses to rule out Ramos arrival
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has remained coy over the potential signing of Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos.

The Spain international has been linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford, with Goal reporting on July 8that Ramos, and Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi, was on the club's shortlist.

And with Van Gaal having claimed that he is looking to sign at least two more players, the Dutchman has now suggested that Ramos could be part of his transfer window "process".

He told reporters: "I cannot talk about these rumours. I have said in a lot of press conferences that it's a process. Maybe Mr Ramos is in the process - you never know."

Van Gaal also commented on Wayne Rooney's performances as captain, with the England striker having been given the armband following the former Bayern Munich manager's appointment last season.

He said: "I could not expect more. I think he's a great captain - better than I expected. He's fully accepted by the players and that's also very important. I can choose but the players decide. That's my philosophy.

"The players have to accept the captains and the first captain is Wayne Rooney and the second captain is Michael Carrick."

The only reason you perpetuating this is to try and hide your blunder of letting De Gea go for free next season, you know its a lost cause, you should have sold De Gea and stopped playing hard ball with Real Madrid hoping to lend Sergio.

man utd is not a club that needs money from transfers to prosper....this sends a message to RM that they can't come calling for our players and we'll roll over....and real are now in a worse position than Man Utd with Casillas leaving...they need a world class keeper...but if they land one now, that will dampen de gea's interests to join them next season....we are winning in this deal whether de gea leaves now (we get what we ask for), doesn't leave or leaves for free

its not a blunder when player wants to leave..i fully agree, either gives us ramos and get de gea or you cant have him and we have full yeat of his service during which time we can focus on other recruitments. Utd dont need money and im happy we ate putting those heartless money throwers back in their place.
