The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has announced the kidnap of its
Vice Chairman (Southeast), Dr. Chudi Nwike, in Anambra state, Nigeria.
According to the party, Nwike was kidnapped on Tuesday, and the
kidnappers had contacted the victim’s family, demanding N30 million
ransom for his release.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday by its National Publicity
Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party quoted Dr. Nwike’s younger
brother as saying that the kidnappers were demanding N30 million, but
that this must be paid in hard currency.
The party therefore called on the country’s security agencies to do
everything within their power to ensure the safe release of the victim.
