Eagles can still qualify for World Cup– NFF official

Nigeria played a draw against Kenya at the World Cup qualifying match that held on Saturday.
Chairman of the Technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation , Chris Green, said on Sunday that Nigeria can still top their group in the on-going World Cup qualifying matches.

He said in Calabar that in spite of forcing Kenyato a draw in Calabar in a World Cup qualifying match, Nigeria had the potentials to win other matches.



He said nobody should write off Nigeria because the team can still bounce back to reckoning.
On the match against Kenya, Mr. Green said as African champions, opposition is bound to be stronger in any match.
“Well, we actually expect this. This is exactly what football is all about.

“You know, we are champions and everybody that we play henceforth, will begin to do everything humanly possible to win us.

“But again, the championship stuff we’ve shown here is our resilience, our ability to comeback and equalize at the end of the day.
“So, it’s not over for us. We are still in the race. We can also turn the tables in Kenya. We can go ahead and beat other teams away and win the group.

“It’s not over, but I think we will need a lot of work.”
Mr. Green said allegations by Kenyan officials about biased officiating against them are false and urged Nigerians not to lose hope on the Eagles as the team has the potential to qualify for the next round of the World Cup qualifying matches.
